Theresia Gerhardinger Gymnasium am Anger

A German-Chinese English lesson

Thursday, 16.12.21

All the students of my class were very excited for days. One week ago, our English teacher, Mrs. Wehner-Zott, told us something special. She told us about her trip to China. She had taught English there and we had the chance to call a class via Teams in a  school in Ninglang, China with students who are also 12 or 13 years old and learn English. The whole week my class was very excited, and we were looking very much forward to this day.

Then, finally, it was Thursday and we all weren´t as calm as usual. We set up the technology and started the call with the class in China. It was very interesting, and we learned a lot about Christmas and New Year in China. Then we did a little Q&A. We asked questions like: How is it in boarding school? Or: How long is your school day?

The Chinese students talked about their school, and we were all very surprised. They told us for example that their school day is from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. and that in their classes there are over 50 students. All in one it was very interesting and a good new experience for us.
